The sudden meeting of Telangana Chief Minister with Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening led to the speculations that the former might go in for cabinet expansion sometime after Sri Rama Navami.
Sources said KCR is learnt to have broached the subject of Cabinet reshuffle with the Governor, but he did not mention any date or time. However, it is learnt the Chief Minister might go in for Cabinet expansion and reshuffle after Sri Rama Navami, when there are auspicious days.
Indications are that KCR might induct a woman legislature into the Cabinet this time, while dropping a couple of sitting ministers.
At present, two woman MLAs are in the race for the Cabinet berth: Konda Surekha and Kova Lakshmi. There is a talk that Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari might be made the Chairman of Telagnana Legislative Council, in place of Swamy Goud who would be coming into the Cabinet. If it happens, Konda Surekha who is also from Warangal, will get a chance.
KCR is expected to drop Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Azmeera Chandulal from the Cabinet on health grounds. In their place, Swamy Goud and Koppula Eshwar might be inducted, say sources.
