Will Deal With Naidu In 'Cash-For-Vote' Case After GHMC Polls

Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao gave enough indications that his bonhomie with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was only out of political compulsions in the wake of GHMC elections.

Addressing a press conference in Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, KCR made it clear that he will deal with Naidu in cash-for-vote case after GHMC polls.

The Telangana ACB is inquiring into the alleged phone conversation between Naidu and TRS MLC Stephenson, on offering Rs 5 crore bribe to MLC to vote in favour of TDP in MLC elections in June last year.

TDP MLA A.Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed by ACB while negotiating the deal with Stephenson and jailed but released on bail later.

However, there has been no progress in the case since then after Chandrababu visited KCR's house personally and invited him for Amaravathi foundation laying programme in October last year to which KCR attended.

There were political speculation that it was an attempt by Naidu to persuade KCR to drop ACB cases.

These speculations gained credence after KCR too visited Vijayawada to invite Naidu for his Chandi Yagam in December last year, for which Naidu attended.

The bonhomie has been continuing since then but there were rumours of KCR keeping quiet on ABC case against Naidu with an eye on GHMC elections as any confrontation with Naidu may give scope for TDP to campaign in GHMC that KCR and TRS is anti-Seemandhra.

Since Seemandhra voters constituted a significant chunk of vote bank in GHMC limits, KCR did not want to take chances, remained quiet and maintained friendly ties with Naidu.

However, KCR on Thusday said that his friendship with Naidu was only a relationship between two constitutional posts and there is nothing more to it.

KCR said after GHMC elections, he will deal with cash for vote case.
