Analysts have predicted that those TDP MLAs who have been denied a place in the cabinet reshuffle might gravitate towards the YSRCP.
This may not actually happen for two reasons: the primary reason is that YS Jagan may ask them to resign and contest again as a matter of principle.
If that happens, the MLAs would need to fork out money once again with no guarantees. Instead, if they choose to stay behind in the TDP, they can at least benefit from the kickbacks offered to ruling party legislators as part of various projects.
The second reason why they may not go to YSRCP is that if they do so, the ruling party might implicate them in various cases which is what happened with Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
Bhuma was suffocated by police cases so much that he had to surrender to the TDP. YS Jagan pleaded with Bhuma to weather the storm but Bhuma was offered a Minister post which ultimately led to his exit from the YSRCP.
Therefore, disgruntled MLAs will stay put in the TDP.
