Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised during his electioneering that the first Chief Minister of Telangana would be a Dalit.
But after the elections, he simply ignored the promise and he himself had occupied the CM chair. The Opposition parties, too, forgot his promise.
But the Dalit associations have not forgotten the same.
The Telangana Dalitha Sanghala Ikya Karyacharana Rastra Samithi on Saturday demanded that KCR translate his promise of making an SC or ST as Chief Minister of Telangana State.
The association leader Chandram alleged that KCR had forgotten his promise of making Dalit as the Chief Minister if Telangana State formed. He alleged that KCR got political power through false promises.
He said fifth anniversary of his organization will be held on December 28 and the SC, ST, BC and Minority leaders will present their messages.
Focus will be mainly on loopholes in the implementation the policies and schemes relating to SCs and STs, he said, adding that though Dalits played a crucial role in the Telangana agitation, they could not get importance in the KCR government.
