Battula Vijaya Rani who was absconding after taking Rs 10 crore from various TV artistes is now in CCS Police custody. The CCS Police arrested her and her ten aides in Bangalore.
Vijaya Rani who collected that amount in the name of chits went missing about a month back with the money.
Following a complaint from the artistes cheated by her, Vijaya Rani, her sister B Sudha Rani, Nani, Saran, Srinivasa Rao, Hari Babu, Durga and Ramesh were arrested in cheating and fraud case. The police also seized two houses and a car registered in the name of Vijaya Rani.
Six police teams were searching for them for the past one month. Finally, following a tip-off from the staff of a transport office in Kukatpally, the police could trace them in Bangalore and take them into custody.
