'Till Death Do Us Part'

After having achieved their dream of a separate state, if one thought that Telangana would now focus on its development and call a halt to its rhetoric against AP, then he is mistaken. For they continue to cringe and crib against their erstwhile masters.

Endowments Minister of AP, Indrakaran Reddy is lamenting the fact that Telangana has been given only Rs 50 crore for the ‘Godavari Pushkarams’ by the NDA whereas AP was allotted Rs 100 crore. Incidentally, Telangana had asked for Rs 700 crore.

“Despite the fact that Telangana has 400 km of Godavari, the Centre has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the Pushkaralu, while Andhra Pradesh, where the river flows for only 180 km, received Rs 100 crore. We will write to the Union government against this discrimination,” said Indrakaran Reddy.

Andhra Pradesh was given a higher allocation not on the basis of the length of the Godavari, but financial status.

KCR himself boasts time and again that Telangana is the only revenue surplus state in the nation after Gujarat, whereas AP has a deficit of nearly Rs 17000 crore. And we have a Minister who has nothing better to do than crib about Rs 50 crore. It is more or less clear now that this acrimony on the part of Telangana will never end.
