This Congress Party Will Never Improve!

Nobody knows better than the Congress party in ruining its own prospects. The party, which is facing debacle after the debacle all over the country, has every chance of bouncing back in Telangana, if it works hard in the next two and a half years. All that it requires is a strong and intelligent leader who can show the party the right way.

Unfortunately, the party leaders do not allow any such leader to grow; and if somebody makes any attempt to revive the party’s glory, the others try to pull him down on one pretext or the other.

Take the case of former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, son of late Chief Minister Marri Channa Reddy. At a time when the morale of the party leaders was down in the dumps with the defection of seniors into the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao attacking them left and right and centre on irrigation projects issue, Shashidhar Reddy took the initiative and thought of proving KCR bluff.

He made a lot of efforts to show that the so-called redesigning of projects to construct large reservoirs was not necessary, as it would only help the TRS leaders make money. He went all the way to Haryana to study the lift schemes there. And he gave a presentation to the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leaders. He advised the TPCC come out with its own power point presentation to prove KCR’s arguments wrong.

But the other Congress leaders did not want to give any credit to Shashidhar Reddy. Some of the PCC leaders were again sent to Haryana in the name of study tours, as if he was lying. And they came out with the same stand as that of Shashidhar Reddy.

And after a lot of pressures, the PCC announced that it would make a power-point presentation on irrigation projects on July 23 to counter KCR’s arguments. But somebody felt that the credit might go to Shashidhar Reddy again. So, it was postponed once again. Reason cited by them was that PCC chief Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy is suffering from dengue fever.

“Why should the presentation be deferred just because Uttam is not available? The party has once again become a fool in the eyes of the public. Even if it makes a better presentation next time, they won’t believe the Congress,” a party leader said.
