Notwithstanding the attempts by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to douse the rebel fire in the party by pacifying the disgruntled elements, there are some dissatisfied elements in the party that continue to irritate him.
One of them is Guntur MLA Modugula Venugopal Reddy. He was totally disgusted with the party leadership for denying him cabinet berth during the recent reshuffle and since then, he has started spitting fire at Naidu and his government.
On the occasion of May Day, Modugula made a sensational comment stating that schemes like “Chandranna Beema” were sheer waste, as they would only help promote Naidu’s name but not solve real problems of the workers.
And on Thursday, Modugula made yet another comment that would be a pin-prick for Naidu. He said the TDP was going to lose the next elections in 2019, if the leadership does not change its style of functioning.
“The government has failed on all fronts and if the situation continues like this, it is sure to bite the dust in the next elections,” he said.
The MLA had sacrificed his Narasaraopet MP seat for Rayapati Sambasiva Rao in 2014 and contested for the assembly polls after he was promised a cabinet berth. Yet, Naidu did not acknowledge his sacrifice.
“There are several problems within the party and I am bearing with them silently. Though I was humiliated by being denied the cabinet berth, I have faced it,” Modugula commented.
