Shilpa Brother To Join YSRC?

Shilpa Brother To Join YSRC?

Stage is said to be set for the defection of former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Kurnool Shila Mohan Reddy into the YSR Congress party.

Mohan Reddy is said to have taken a decision to this effect after discussing with his followers and supporters in the district.

Apparently, Mohan Reddy is peeved at the way TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu flatly rejecting his request for the party ticket to contest the by-election to Nandyal assembly seat which has fallen vacant due to sudden death of sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy.

Naidu reportedly told Mohan Reddy that he had assured the party ticket to Bhuma family itself – it could be Bhuma Akhila Priya’s sister Mounika or her cousin.

He reportedly assured to field Mohan Reddy in 2019 elections. However, the latter is terribly upset for being denied the ticket.

He reportedly picked up an argument with his own brother Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, party’s Kurnool unit president.

Chakrapani told Mohan Reddy that Naidu was taking all steps to bring unity in the party in Kurnool and brought about a compromise between him and Bhuma Nagi Reddy.

As part of the compromise formula, Chakrapani was given the MLC seat. Now that Nagi Reddy is dead, there is no room for any groupism in the district; so, he asked Mohan Reddy to wait till 2019.

However, an agitated Mohan Reddy said he would quit the TDP. He already got a green signal from YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and in a couple of days, he might take a decision to join the YSRC, say sources.
