Sadavarthi Lands Case Back To Square One!

Sadavarthi Lands Case Back To Square One!

The controversial Sadavarthi lands case seems to have come back to square one.

The Hyderabad high court on Tuesday ordered that fresh auction of the lands admeasuring 83 acres at Chennai belonging to Sadavarthi Trust of Amaravati be conducted to decide the highest bidder.

This came as a rude shock to YSR Congress party MLA from Mangalagiri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who is expected to take possession of the lands as he had paid the entire amount of Rs 27.44 crore as per the directions of the Hyderabad high court.

Last week, Greatandhra.com had indicated that it won’t be so easy for the MLA to take possession of the lands, as Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu would not allow him to do so despite court orders.

Though Reddy had paid the entire amount of Rs 27.44 crore as per the earlier court directions, a petition was filed by All India Brahmin Association impleading in the case and demanding fresh auctions.

As a result, the court ordered that fresh action be conducted for the lands and a notification to this effect should be issued in all national dailies.

As predicted by Greatandhra.com, the court asked Ramakrishna Reddy to participate in the fresh auction, if he wants. With this, the situation has come back to square one.

If the court wants fresh auction, why did it ask the YSRC MLA to pay Rs 5 crore extra than the original bid amount in the first place? And who will decide the actual rate of the lands? These are the questions that are being raised now.
