Mysterious Fire In Tullur: Who Did It?

The mysterious fire accident reported in the banana gardens at Punumaka, Undavalli, Mudada and Ligayapalli villages of Tullur mandal falling under AP Capital Region Development Authority has kicked up a political row with the YSR Congress party and the ruling Telugu Desam Party accusing each other of abetting the crime.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu today expressed concern over the fire incident in some areas in Guntur district, which were part of the land to develop and construct the proposed new capital for the state.

He reviewed the incident with CRDA authority CEO Srikanth, the collector and senior police officials and directed the district collector to provide detailed information on the incident and instructed him to take stern action against those responsible for it.

YSR Congress party was quick to capitalize on the development and alleged that the TDP leaders were creating a fear psychosis among the villagers who refused to part with their lands for the capital development.

YSRC leader Parthasarathy said the Naidu government was trying to forcibly acquire the farmers’ lands for capital by resorting to arson.

However, AP Home minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa said that there were reports that YSRC workers were allegedly involved in the incident, and the accused would be arrested soon.

AP state DGP J V Ramudu expressed apprehension that there may be conspiracy behind the fire accident reported in the villages under Tulluru mandal. There was a need to go to the root cause of the incident and the police is probing and inquiring with the villagers.
