The Telangana advocates are moving heaven and earth to get their demand of bifurcation of the High Court fulfilled. Throwing eggs at judges, dharnas, vandalism and what not, an uninformed onlooker would be genuinely surprised if told that the people indulging in these acts were actually advocates.
In fact, the Telangana government has even supported them and also raised the issue in Parliament.
Judging by the intensity of their agitation, one would assume that it is the fight for a separate Telangana rather than for a separate High Court for Telangana.
On the other side, we have Andhra Pradesh faced with even bigger issues. KCR does not release Sagar water to AP, the promised ‘special status’ to AP has been denied, there is no financial incentive coming the way of AP either, and the farmers of AP face a threat to their livelihood from none other than their own CM. Yet, the people go about their daily lives in a peaceful fashion taking things in their stride.
Chandrababu, Chiranjeevi, Venkayya Naidu, Purandeswari, Kavuri etc etc… the list of people who have backstabbed them is endless.
Yet the AP people true to their nature never take to the streets unless it is absolutely warranted. Maybe that is why these politicians take the people for granted.
Maybe we should be like those Telanganites, rushing out on to the streets at the smallest pretext. Maybe then, justice would be ensured to the only Telugu speaking state in the country.
