The defection of Telugu Desam Party MLA from Ibrahimpatnam Manchireddy Kishan Reddy into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has come as a rude setback for just party president N Chandrababu Naidu. But for his son Nara Lokesh, it was a rude shock.
Wooed by TRS ministers M Mahender Reddy and Tummala Nageswar Rao, Kishan Reddy declared that he would be joining the TRS in the presence of TRS supremo and Chief Minster K Chandrasekhar Rao on April 24 for developing his backward constituency.
The defection definitely shocked Lokesh, who has now been overseeing the party affairs in Telangana.
When there were posters and banners in Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday welcoming Manchireddy into the TRS, Lokesh called him over phone and enquired about the same and Manchireddy denied of joining the TRS. Even his son personally met Lokesh and explained that his father would remain in the TDP.
But within 24 hours, Manchireddy and his associates declared that they would be joining the TRS. And Lokesh has lost his face!
