KTR Warns Of Firing; Kodanda Not Scared!

When the Telangana movement was at its peak, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders under the joint action committee (TJAC) used to hit the streets with agitations and rallies almost every day. The colleges were shut down and students were forced to come on to streets.

The TRS leaders instigated employees to boycott their duties and join the agitations. They even indulged in violent methods like destruction of statues on tank bund and throwing stones at the police. But it was all part of the agitation for a cause, though it was a major law and order crisis those days.

Now, the same TRS leaders are viewing the agitation by students and unemployed for jobs in the angle of law and order breakdown. The reason is the TRS is in power and its leader K Chandrasekhar Rao who led the movement is now the chief minister. For him, any agitation is nothing but an attempt to disrupt the peace.

It was evident from the statement of KCR’s son and minister K T Rama Rao, who alleged that some “politically unemployed” people are instigating youth and students to come on to the streets and take up agitations, thereby disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in Telangana.

“They are forcing the government to order police firing,” he said, indicating that the government will crush any such agitation with an iron hand.

Obviously, TJAC leader Kodandaram responded strongly.

“Telangana people are not scared of police firing. Had they been really scared, the Telangana state would not have been possible. The statement itself shows the government is planning to order firing to crush the legitimate agitation of youth for jobs,” he said.
