In a sympathetic gesture, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday sanctioned financial assistance to Hymavathi, wife of late Telugu actor T L Kantha Rao during her life time.
Following a direction from the Chief Minister, the Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture Department, released an order sanctioning monthly financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to 80-year old Hymavathi, 80, during her life time from January 2015.
Kantha Rao, a renowned cine actor of five decades, hailed from Nalgonda district. His wife Hymavathi has been suffering from ill-health and her family members are financially poor.
Therefore, the director of Department of Culture had written a letter to the State government on humanitarian grounds recommending monthly pension to the wife of renowned cine artiste, who regaled the cine goers for five decades.
