Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is going all out to get into the good books of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by replicating his Swachh Bharat campaign in a big way, is surprisingly keeping the local Bharatiya Janata Party leaders at bay.
Obviously, the BJP leaders and cadre are fretting and fuming at KCR for ignoring them. What is worse, the Chief Minister also denied them an appointment when they wanted to request him to take them into confidence for the Swachh Telangana campaign.
Apparently peeved over the Telangana government failing to invite them for discussion on Swatch Hyderabad program and denying an appointment with KCR, the BJP leaders on Tuesday staged a protest at the main entrance of C-Block.
They shouted slogans against the government for ignoring them to involve in Swatch Hyderabad program. They prevented the officials and staff from entering the premises of C block where the Chief Minister’s Office exists.
BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman, State unit president G Kishan Reddy, Ch Ramchandra Reddy, NVSS Prabhakar, Raja Singh and MLC Ramchander Rao squatted at the main entrance at Samatha block and registered their protest. However, the police intervened and arrested the BJP leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Lakshman and Kishan Reddy deplored that KCR was deliberately ignoring them to invite to the Swatch Hyderabad program. They also alleged the Chief Minister denied them an appointment to address city grievances. They attributed the protest to the denial of appointment by the CMO.
The Swatch Hyderabad program should not be confined to the TRS alone, they said. The Government should involve all other political parties, including the BJP, they said.
