KCR To Join NDA For Hike In Assembly Seats?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is said to be willing to join the National Democratic Alliance if Prime Minister Narendra Modi concedes his request for increase the number of assembly seats in Telangana.

According to sources, KCR gave indications to this effect to Modi, whom he had met in New Delhi in the afternoon.

He requested the Prime Minister to see that the bill on delimitation of assembly constituencies be introduced in the ongoing monsoon session of the Parliament.

He reminded that increase in the number of assembly seats was part of the assurances given to Telangana in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

“Our party will extend full support to the NDA in all aspects, if this request is conceded,” KCR reportedly told Modi.

The TRS chief also urged him to handover the defence land in Secunderabad Cantonment area to State Government to enable construction of two multi-level flyovers.

He said that the State Govt was ready to provide alternate land to defence authorities. He said that the State Government proposes to construct a new Secretariat building at Bison Grounds in Secunderabad.
