A new Telugu newspaper, 'Mana Telangana' was launched in Hyderabad and KCR was present as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that the new daily should be objective and bring back the values of journalism. Ironically, at the same time, he asked the newspaper to champion exclusively the cause of the Telangana against others.
In an indirect reference to the ‘Andhra Media’, he said that there was a need to have more newspapers to protect and push the interests of Telangana as there were forces which were trying to unsettle the newly-born State when it was taking its initial steps forward.
He said that the government would extend all cooperation to newspapers which would have the interests of Telangana as their agenda.
Interestingly, for this latest daily, KCR has exempted the regulation of a minimum of eighteen months existence for issuing government advertisements to the newspaper.
Now, such a generous exemption undoubtedly makes it clear that this latest daily is yet another mouthpiece of KCR in the likes of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ and ‘Eenadu’.
