Speaking to farmers affected by land pooling in Amaravati region, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said he would become Chief Minister after the next elections and solve all the problems of the farmers.
And at the recent massive rally in Narasaraopeta, where Kasu Mahesh Reddy and his followers joined the YSRCP, Jagan said the same thing.
In the last elections, YSRCP was considered a certainty to win the polls but was thwarted at the last-minute reprieve in the form of a false loan-waiver’ promise by Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan who saw to it that Kapu vote bank went to the TDP.
But, the anti-incumbency factor in the State is at an all-time high and people are thoroughly disgruntled with the Naidu administration which has completely failed in all respects.
Nevertheless, anything is possible in politics and nothing can be taken for granted. Therefore, it would seem more appropriate if office-bearers of the YCP were to express their confidence about Jagan becoming the CM instead of the latter himself stating it. Otherwise, it would seem like overconfidence which Jagan was accused of in 2014.
