As Chandrababu Naidu once again dashes off to Singapore for his various deals with that nation, Jagan meanwhile is wasting no time either as he has once again managed to set up a meeting with none other than Narendra Modi.
Of course, Jagan needs to have cordial relations with the Center considering the various cases foisted against him. In fact, Jagan has been given appointments with various Central Ministers whereas Naidu was unable to meet them.
By indulging in this triangular love story, the BJP has been sending out signals that it is warming up to Jagan. But in reality, this might be a ploy by the BJP to annoy the TDP and force the latter to walk out of the NDA.
To date, Naidu has not fallen for the bait. The BJP after its spectacular electoral success is now keen on forging its own identity down South and an alliance with TDP might actually prove counter- productive to its ambitions.
Any assistance to AP at this juncture might result in Naidu walking away with all the credit. Hence, it might be using Jagan as a tool for its own plans of forcing the TDP to sever its alliance with the BJP.
After that, even Jagan will be dispensable. With no support from the Center, Naidu is already facing a significant drop in popularity ratings. And Jagan will have to put up with the BJP irrespective of the way they treat him.
Had the BJP really been keen on an alliance with Jagan, then it would not have prepared a blueprint to poach Jagan loyalists from the Rayalaseema region which is Jagan’s stronghold.
