Hurdles to Mudragada Padayatra?

Hurdles to Mudragada Padayatra?

The proposed padayatra by Kapu strongman and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham across Andhra Pradesh from November 15 demanding inclusion of Kapus in the OBC category is most likely to face hurdles.

The Chandrababu Naidu government is understood to have asked the police department not to accord any permission to Mudragada’s padayatra, since it might lead to law and order problem in the state and there would be unrest among the other BC sections.

“No rallies or padayatras will be allowed without obtaining permission from the police. We will take stringent action against those who violate prohibitory orders,” AP home minister and deputy chief minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa said.

He reminded that Mudragada had not taken any permission from the police or the administration for conducting the public meeting at Tuni last year. It had resulted in anti-social elements entering the meeting and indulging in violent incidents.

“There are apprehensions that even during the padayatra, Mudragada might give provocative speeches and that might lead to violence,” he said.
