That Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu had to miss an important assignment in Hyderabad because of the delay in Air India flight in Delhi had become a big news.
The AI management apologised to the minister saying the pilot could not reach the airport because he was caught in traffic jam on Delhi roads.
Instead of complaining to the AI management and rescheduling his flight, Venkaiah chose Twitter to give vent to his anger at the AI. He knows that this will become a big news, which is what he wants.
After all, heavens did not fall if Venkaiah skipped an assignment which nobody knows, but it was evident that he has chosen to take a dig at his Cabinet colleague Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
If pilot is delayed to the airport because of traffic problems, why didn’t Venkaiah attack the Delhi police for failing to regulate the traffic? He is the urban development minister and he is responsible for the hassle free roads in Delhi.
Agreed that he could not reach Hyderabad on time. But there are many things which have not reached AP from Delhi – like the special category status to AP and a special financial package. Venkaiah himself had made several promises in this regard.
Why didn’t he talk about the delay in implementation of these promises?
