The multi-crore land scam allegedly involving Telugu Desam Party MLC G Deepak Reddy is learnt to have upset even a populist pet scheme of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
According to reports, Deepak Reddy, nephew of Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy, had encroached upon 45 acres of precious government land at Gudimalkapur near Mehdipatnam with the help of his advocates and followers.
This land was identified by the Telangana government for construction of KCR’s pet scheme two-bedroom houses for the poor.
The officials were so blind that they could not take any action to fence the land and save it from encroaching for the double-bedroom scheme.
Deepak Reddy and his followers cleverly forged documents and through their modus operandi created litigation. With the fabricated documents, he sold several acres of land to other people.
Central Crime Station (CCS) police, who arrested the trio on Tuesday, realized that the gang had been claiming ownership over open plots by creating litigation and intimidating authentic land owners.
These forged documents were even submitted in courts claiming the property and making the rightful owner a party in the litigation.
