Cong Has Weapons, But No Battle Field!

Cong Has Weapons, But No Battle Field!

The Telangana Congress party is struggling hard to take on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao, but it has not been able to get the right platform to begin the battle.

It is not that the party does not have people with subject knowledge. There are leaders who really work hard and gather material to expose the hollowness of the KCR government. But they don’t get the opportunity. And when they make an attempt, the so-called seniors feel them as a threat to their existence and do not encourage such talent.

Take for example, Congress official spokesman D Sravan. Since he was in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the past, he knows how to take on KCR. He made a lot of study on the irrigation sector in the state and hence, he knows the loopholes in the KCR power point presentation made in the Assembly in March. So, Sravan also prepared a counter-presentation to expose KCR.

According to his study, the total cultivable land in the State is 1.13 lakh acres; of which 97 lakh acres is already under cultivation under various projects, tanks and canals. Only 16 lakh acres is yet to get water for irrigation. So, there is no way KCR can provide irrigation for another one crore acres through redesigning of proposed irrigation projects.

When there is no land for agriculture, where is the scope for additional one crore acres of ayacut?

Sravan has prepared his power point presentation with the support of Google maps and satellite imageries, a method adopted by KCR in the assembly. But where should it be given?

If it has to be given in the Assembly, Sravan is not an MLA and if Jana Reddy or Uttam Kumar Reddy makes the presentation, KCR will tear them into pieces. If the presentation is given at a private hall, it will not get any media attention.

So, the ammunition is there; but where is the place to fight the battle?
