The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has decided to crack whip on the opposition parties and individuals who post “objectionable” comments against either chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao or his government in the social media.
According to sources, the government has instructions to the Cyber Crime police to keep a watch on the “abusive “comments posted in the social media against KCR and his government.
Those who post such comments would be thrown behind bars and cases would be filed against them. The Cyber Crime police have begun taking steps in this direction, sources said.
“The opposition parties and some individuals are making strong remarks against KCR and the TRS government to spread the anti-establishment feeling among the people. The government views this as a serious offence.
If they have anything against the government, they can adopt democratic methods to register their protest, but not posting negative comments. They would be dealt with seriously,” the government sources said.
It is not clear what the government means by “democratic means” and what “objectionable comments” are. Any criticism against the government is naturally objectionable to the ruling party. Does it mean whoever makes comments against the government can be thrown behind the bars?
