Bangaru Telangana: land of favoritism

For all die-hard supporters of Telangana who expected a miracle with the formation of a new state, a state characterized by fair-play and justice for all, think again!

The TRS government is setting new highs in pandering to crony capitalism and rewarding along political lines.

Many people had joined the TRS during the fight for separate Telangana and now their hard work is yielding dividends.

The government has sanctioned Rs 384 crore for taking up repairs of kuccha roads across the state, and the major pie of the contracts has been reportedly bagged by TRS workers.

The Rs 384 crore was sanctioned for gravelling of roads which are in dire need of repairs. For works more than Rs 15 lakh, tenders have to be called for as per the rules. So, the TRS government has split up all such works into Rs 5 lakh works which can be given by nomination.

Ironically, the government had already sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for each zilla parishad territorial committee member which was utilized mostly for gravelling of roads after the rains began this year.

Now, even though there are no rains, the government has earmarked Rs 384 crore just for appeasing its party workers.
