This is only a minor rephrase that Chandrababu Naidu has resorted to but it has wreaked havoc in the lives of farmers.
The words in the above phrase are intact and on that basis is Chandrababu claiming that he has fulfilled his promise! But one cannot help feeling sorry for the poor farmers who voted for Naidu.
Farmers who did not figure in the first phase of the loan waiver are being asked to register their names by submitting Aadhar, ration cards and ‘Pattaddar’ pass books at ‘Mee-Seva’ Centres and Tahsildhar offices.
In the meantime, the banks are rightfully insistent on repayment of loans from the farmers failing which they cannot avail of fresh loans.
Deceived by the very government that he has voted for, what can the poor farmer do? Where is the way out for him?
