Money is vital for anyone's existence. Like the Citibank ad, there are some things that money can't buy, for the rest there is Citibank.
Well, money makes the world go round and one man who strongly believed in the power of money was late actor Sobhan Babu.
Though there were established stars like NTR, ANR, he did manage to make his mark as a family hero. Of course, there was loads of hard work, discipline and his good nature behind his success.
He was one of the top heroes between 1965 and 1985 and acted in about 200 films. It is said that he was very particular about his remuneration.
Apparently, he would not sit quiet even if one rupee was less than the pre-decided amount.
During the fag end of Sobhan Babu’s career, he acted in a film titled Hello Guru which released in 1996.
Incidentally, the film was made by a huge fan of Sobhan Babu and it starred Suhasini as the heroine. But by the time the film was wrapped up, the producer did not have any money left with him and he still had to pay some amount to the hero.
But Sobhan Babu is said to have told him that he would dub for the film only after getting the final payment. So the producer had to go to great lengths to get money and finally release the film.
Well, this is just one example of how particular Sobhan Babu was about money.
