Producer Blames Director For Kick 2 Disaster

Producer Blames Director For Kick 2 Disaster

Kick 2 was much anticipated film when it was announced. The entire team had high stakes and high hopes from the film.

Kalyanram desperately needed a hit, Surender Reddy had to repeat the magic of Race Gurram and Ravi Teja wanted a huge hit. But the film has been declared a disaster.

And now, the blame game has begun and Kalyanram says it is director Surender Reddy who is responsible for the film ending up being a flop.

For starters, the film was grossly over budget and secondly, the second half barely had any comedy scenes and the entire Lagaan-type treatment was so outdated that the audience immediately rejected the film.

To add to all this, Ravi Teja too was not his best and all these factors majorly impacted the box office collections. Also, the film's release was delayed for more than 2 months and this killed the curiosity factor.

"I told Suri to change the second half in the month of May itself. I kept on asking him that the story has no dum post interval. Asked him to reshoot but he didn't listen," Kalyan Ram told one of his associates recently.

Even the film's hero Ravi Teja too put the blame on Surender Reddy. The director for now is keeping his silence as he has a lot at stake.

Reddy will be directing Ram Charan next and if the issue escalates, it can impact his next film. On the other hand, some say that Reddy too has his grouses regarding the producer, but he has chosen to remain silent due to the film's performance at the box office.

Though the team has done a lot of promotional events on television channels and has done promotional events, Surender Reddy was not part of any of them.
