YSRCP leader survey predicts close fight in T'gana

A latest survey conducted by a YSR Congress party leader from Andhra Pradesh has predicted that there is going to be a photo finish in Telangana assembly elections, polling for which will be held on Thursday.

This YSRCP leader, a prominent legislator from Rayalaseema known for his proximity with party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has the habit of commissioning surveys in his state and also in Telangana periodically on various issues.

According to his survey, the Congress will definitely get 41 seats, while the BRS will certainly win 43 seats. The strength of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen will come down from seven to six, whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party will definitely win four seats.

There is a possibility of an independent winning a seat – but it is not immediately known whether it is Barrelakka in Kollapur or retired IPS officer R S Praveen Kumar in Sirpur.

The survey says there is going to be a straight fight between the BRS and the BJP in six seats. In another 18 seats, there is going to be a tug of war between the Congress and the BRS.

If the BRS wins these 18 seats, it can return to power for the third consecutive time. But if the Congress wins all of them, it will end up with just 59 seats. At the same time, if the BRS can win at least three of the six seats it is in close contest with the BJP, it will have a comfortable majority.

On the whole, the YSRCP survey appears to be advantageous to the BRS, but there is a close fight with the Congress and the BJP.

Some clarity would emerge after the polling comes to an end on Thursday evening, when the media houses come out with exit polls!
