TRS MLA In Yet Another Controversy!

TRS MLA In Yet Another Controversy!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislator from Parkal Challa Dharma Reddy, who kicked up a controversy by making unsavoury comments on collections of donations for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and incurred the wrath of the Bharatiya Janata Party workers, landed in yet another controversy.

A video of the MLA making alleged derogatory comments on SC and ST officers has been doing rounds in the media for the last two days.

In his video, Dharma Reddy was seen saying at an OC Welfare Association meeting that those officials who had reached high positions taking advantage of reservations were destroying the administration.

He said those officials from weaker sections had no know subject knowledge and had no capacity to run the administration.

“Due to their inability and ignorance, the state has been unable to prosper as desired. With the support of reservation, they get jobs and make things worse,” he said.

Naturally, his comments evoked sharp reaction from the opposition parties and Dalit organisations.

Senior Dalit leader and AICC spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan demanded that Dharma Reddy be suspended from the party for his intolerable comments against weaker section officials.

“The MLA with his unpleasant, undemocratic remarks on the weaker sections of the society openly violated the Indian constitution. The TRS should immediately suspend such rouge MLA from the party to protect the democracy in the state,” he said.

Sravan also asked the DGP of Telangana to file suo motu criminal case against Dharma Reddy.

"Is this what is being preached by CM KCR to his colleagues to attack on the weaker sections", Dr Sravan asked.

The senior Congress Party leader reminded that KCR has already betrayed and humiliated the SCs by rejecting them the Chief Minister post as promised before and after the formation of Telangana state.

“And now for no reasons the ruling TRS party MLAs and Ministers have also started a deliberate discrimination towards the weaker sections of the society by humiliating and insulting them, especially the BCs, SCs and STs who have all been betrayed in one or the other situation,” he alleged.
