Sharmila on why she will work with Congress

YS Sharmila, the leader of YSR Telangana party, recently announced her party's support for Congress in the upcoming November 30 assembly polls.

She revealed her decision not to contest the election based on a recent survey indicating her party's potential impact on Congress' vote share in over 55 seats, with Congress losing in over 20 seats.

Speaking at the India Today Telangana Roundtable, Sharmila emphasized her desire to form a new alliance with Congress and collaborate closely with the party. However, she acknowledged Congress' skepticism due to YSR Telangana Party being a new entity without an election symbol.

When questioned about her relationship with her brother, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sharmila emphasized her strong connection with Telangana, where she was born and raised.

She affirmed her commitment to fighting for Telangana's welfare, underscoring that her past, present, and future are deeply rooted in the state.

She criticized the failure of KCR's government to fulfill promises related to farmers' loan waivers, employment, housing, and more, citing corruption and misrule by local BRS leaders.

Regarding legal challenges faced by her late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, she emphasized the principle that no political party should be above the people, a value upheld by her father.

She shared incidents where she faced attacks and expressed her determination to fight for the welfare of the people, emphasizing their supreme importance.
