It appears Y S Sharmila, who announced the launch of a new political party in Telangana, has chosen to follow the same strategy adopted by her brother Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy after he launched his YSR Congress party in 2012.
Like Jagan, Sharmila, too, has decided to continuously go into the people and take up agitations on various issues of people.
After addressing the Khammam meeting, she has decided to get into direct action to project herself as the people’s leader.
As part of the strategy, Sharmila will take up three-day “deeksha” at Indira Park from April 15 to fight for the unemployed youth and with a demand that the government fill up 1.91 lakh posts at the earliest by issuing a notification.
Like Jagan, Sharmila will invoke her father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy at every meeting and generate a lot of sympathy for her.
Simultaneously, she would launch a social media blitzkrieg in a big way to propagate herself and her party, as her brother had done between 2014 and 2019.
And her ultimate weapon would be launching the padayatra in a big way, starting from Chevella, as was done by her father in 2003, and walk through the entire Telangana, generating a lot of euphoria.
Meanwhile, she would launch a media house – both newspaper and channel, which would carry extensive publicity for her.
Like Jagan, this media team would organise photo sessions, filming of her padayatra using drones and many such publicity programmes, creating a huge hype for her party, sources added.
