Ever since Bharat Rashtra Samithi led by former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has lost power to the Congress, one man who is conspicuously missing from action is KCR’s nephew and former Rajya Sabha member Joginapally Santosh Kumar.
When the BRS was ruling Telangana, Santosh was the eyes and ears of KCR and in fact, he was considered to be an extra-constitutional authority, though he used to maintain a complete low-profile.
But the BRS sources say he knew every single activity of the party and KCR and was managing the whole financial dealings of the then chief minister. He was aware of the entire in-and-out of KCR’s farmhouse activities.
At the same time, there are allegations that Santosh himself was involved in several shady activities. He allegedly collected huge donations for his “Green India Challenge” initiative, which he had promoted extensively in the name of promoting green cover across the state.
Apparently, the Revanth Reddy government has got massive inputs from various sources about the alleged swindling of money by Santosh in the name of Green India Challenge programme, particularly from film industry people.
Apart from the Green India Challenge, Santosh’s role in the telephone tapping is also being probed by the state government and it has got some vital evidences in this regard, sources said.
After gathering all the evidences, the Revanth government might initiate a probe against Santosh’s activities.
“Apart from Kavitha, who was arrested by the ED in Delhi liquor policy scam, Santosh might be the second person to be arrested from KCR’s family, soon after the Lok Sabha elections,” sources added.
