Prashant Kishor changing colours, says Mamata

Noted political strategist and founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) Prashant Kishor has been inconsistent in taking his political stance with every passing year; as a result of which his comments and political predictions have lacked credibility.

This was once again pointed out by West Bengal chief minister and Trinamul Congress president Mamata Banerjee, who has once engaged Prashant Kishor as her consultant and came to power in West Bengal twice.

In an interview to a Bengali news channel, Mamata Banerjee said she had stopped working with Prashant Kishor long ago as he lacked consistency in his political stand.

“He is not working for us. Right now, he is busy working for Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance in Andhra Pradesh,” she said.

She, however, said an I-PAC team led by Pratik Jain, is working for the TMC political strategies in West Bengal in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. This team has nothing to do with Prashant Kishor.

“Till the other day, Prashant Kishor was opposing the BJP. Now, he is favouring the saffron party. That is why he has been saying that INDIA block won’t come to power and the BJP-led NDA would return to power for third successive term,” she said, adding that she was not surprised with his statements against the opposition unity.

Prashant Kishor, who had earlier worked for the YSR Congress party in the 2019 assembly and Lok Sabha elections, has been making statements against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the recent past.

He said it would be very difficult for the YSRCP to return to power again, as Jagan had focussed only on money distribution, rather than developing infrastructure, building the state capital and setting up of industries.
