Naveen Yadav: Third Time Lucky?

Naveen Yadav: Third Time Lucky?

Maganti Sunitha, wife of the deceased MLA Maganti Gopinath of BRS and Naveen Yadav from Congress are the two main contenders for the Jubilee Hills by-election that will be held on November 11.

Maganti Sunitha will be largely banking on the sentiment vote following the passing away of her husband.

As for Naveen Yadav, the BC candidate, he could never defeat Gopinath having lost to him in 2014 and 2018.

Interestingly, Yadav contested in 2014 on AIMIM ticket and came in second and contested as an independent in 2018.

The AIMIM did not field any candidate in 2018. Twice, Naveen Yadav has lost and he is going all out this time to realise his dream of becoming an MLA.

No self-respecting Hindu will align with the AIMIM after Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks against Hindu gods and goddesses in the past, yet in politics, it is only pragmatism, the need of the hour that counts as proven by Naveen Yadav.

There are 3.98 lakh voters in Jubilee Hills and the Muslims account for 1 lakh of them. AIMIM is not contesting but extending its support to Naveen Yadav and this could tip the scales in his favour.

Will the posh Jubilee Hills constituency elect a BC candidate or will the sentiment factor work in favour of the BRS and Sunitha?
