Much fuss over Revanth 'missing': He lands in Harvard

For the last two days, social media and even mainstream media closer to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has been raising a hue and cry over the “missing” of Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy and his absence at the Republic Day celebrations in Hyderabad.

The BRS camp has been questioning Revanth Reddy’s sudden absence from public view after attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, which ended on January 23.

While the chief minister travelled to Davos as part of Telangana’s investment outreach and global brand promotion, the BRS leaders have raised doubts over his movements after January 23, suggesting that he may have quietly travelled onward to the United States, on a secret mission.

However, the Congress leaders dismissed the criticism as politically motivated, arguing that an international transition from Switzerland to the US is neither unusual nor “secretive,” as he had gone to the US to attend a week-long training programme at Harvard.

He got stuck up in New York due to extreme weather conditions for two days, party sources said.

According to official sources, Revanth Reddy is participating in a leadership programme at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School, where he is enrolled in the course titled: “Leadership for the 21st Century: Chaos, Conflict, and Courage.”

The programme focuses on decision-making during crises, governance challenges, and adaptive leadership strategies. It includes interactive case studies and collaborative assignments with participants from around 20 countries.

Political commentators note that Revanth Reddy’s participation in such an Ivy League course while serving as a sitting chief minister is being viewed as a significant shift towards a more globally informed governance approach.

Supporters argue that the chief minister’s attempt to upgrade leadership skills reflects a new political culture, while critics accuse the opposition of indulging in unnecessary and contextless attacks.
