KCR to move SC against Kaleshwaram panel report?

Amid the ongoing debate on irregularities in the construction of the ₹1 lakh crore Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project on the Godavari river, following the report submitted by the Justice P. C. Ghose Commission, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi finds itself in a dilemma over how to counter the Congress government’s offensive.

The issue was discussed at a meeting convened by BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao with senior party leaders K T Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, B Vinod Kumar, and others at his Erravalli farmhouse on Friday.

According to sources, BRS leaders deliberated on ways to counter what they called a “malicious campaign” by the Congress government against the project, while also exploring legal options to revive the stalled works.

KCR reportedly advised party leaders to seek the opinion of legal experts on prioritizing issues before the Supreme Court.

The meeting also reviewed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s Independence Day address, where he alleged that the previous BRS government had wasted ₹1 lakh crore on a project that ultimately “collapsed.”

Discussions also extended to the upcoming assembly sessions, where the Ghose Commission’s report is expected to be tabled, and the party’s strategy to blunt negative publicity.

KCR is said to have stressed the importance of preparing for forthcoming elections - including the Jubilee Hills by-election and local body polls - with a clear target of victory.

It is learnt that KTR will spearhead the Jubilee Hills campaign.
