KCR planning a public meeting to attack Modi?

KCR planning a public meeting to attack Modi?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao normally confines himself to his official meetings in his Pragathi Bhavan. He rarely comes into public to address meetings, except during elections.

If at all he has made any public appearances in the last two years of coming back to power for the second term, it was for the launch of Kaleshwaram project or a couple of other irrigation projects or agriculture-related meetings like Rythu Vedika inauguration etc.

Now,  a latest report doing rounds in the social media is that KCR is planning to address a massive public meeting, probably in December, in Hyderabad, probably ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

The agenda of the public meeting is said to be targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular. Apparently, he has realised that the BJP is gradually gaining ground in Telangana and if its growth cannot be nipped in the bud, there is every possibility of the saffron party growing strong in the state.

Especially, the reports from Dubbak in Siddipet district, where the BJP is learnt to have given a tough fight to the TRS, have become a matter of concern for the TRS leadership. That is precisely why KCR is planning to put up a massive show of strength to attack the BJP and Modi.

If this report is true, it makes one wonder how KCR can hold such a huge meeting during this Coronavirus pandemic. The BJP will definitely challenge any such move in the court of law and if necessary, might even seek the intervention of the Centre in preventing the same.

In any case, the TRS would have to conduct a series of meetings during the GHMC elections. It remains to be seen whether KCR will address any meetings as part of the electioneering.
