Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC and Telangana Jagruti founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha is learnt to have once again faced humiliation from her father and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao when she visited his farmhouse on Friday to seek blessings for her younger son, Arya, who left for the US on Saturday.
According to sources, Kavitha went to the farmhouse only with her sons Aditya and Arya, leaving behind her husband and in-laws.
She is said to have hoped to patch up with her father, given the strained relations between them over the past few months.
Though Kavitha was able to meet her mother, Shobha, she was not granted an audience with KCR.
“She and her son had lunch with her mother. Later, she went up to her father’s bedroom but was not allowed inside as KCR did not want to meet her,” sources said.
However, Shobha reportedly took her grandson into the bedroom, where KCR blessed Arya and interacted with him — inquiring about his course of study, the university, and his travel schedule.
Kavitha is said to have greeted her father with folded hands from outside before leaving.
On Saturday morning, Kavitha and her elder son Aditya accompanied Arya to the US for his admission. She is expected to return to Hyderabad on September 2.
The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court had recently granted her permission to travel abroad and released her passport.
Kavitha’s restricted access to her father has sparked debate in political circles.
Observers have likened the episode to devotees offering prayers from outside the Tirumala temple when they cannot get darshan of Lord Venkateshwara.
Political analysts are questioning why KCR has distanced himself from his own daughter, despite her continued loyalty and repeated statements calling him her leader.
“Clearly, personal issues are overshadowing family ties. This shows the deep contempt KCR appears to hold toward his daughter,” an analyst remarked.
