Over 400 homebuyers are in limbo as work on the SAS I Tower project has been stalled for months, caught in disputes between builders and landowners.
Members of the SAS I Tower Investors Association say the deadlock stems from financial disagreements, lack of communication, and landowners allegedly blocking permissions for sales.
At one point, construction came to a complete halt, leaving buyers uncertain about the fate of their dream homes.
After reviewing the issue, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) stepped in, holding both the builders and landowners equally accountable for the project’s completion.
It directed that all sales revenue be deposited in a dedicated account, to be used exclusively for construction.
RERA also ordered the builders to draw up a clear timeline for finishing the project and urged all parties to cooperate.
Additionally, it mandated the formation of an official buyers’ association to ensure transparency and prevent further delays.
