Centre watching developments in Telangana!

The unceremonious dismissal of 48,000-odd employees and workers of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has become a big national news.

The development caused ripples even in New Delhi, as it is for the first time in the history of the country in the recent past that so many people were sacked for the first time.

The only such an incident was reported in Tamil Nadu during the Jayalalithaa regime.

According to sources, the central intelligence authorities reported to the Union home ministry that if KCR continued to adopt such a stubborn stand on the RTC strike, it might escalate into a serious law and order situation.

Apart from political parties, even the Maoist party was quick to support the RTC strike and it might cause a serious situation.

The state BJP leaders also brought to the notice of the Centre that the situation is grave and even the state government employees might join the strike sooner or later.

Even Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy is regularly watching the situation.

Meanwhile, the Centre is learnt to have asked new Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to assess the situation and submit a report.

“The Centre is keenly watching the developments. If the situation goes out of hands, it may even intervene to rein in KCR,” source said.
