BJP plans mega show on Telangana liberation day!

Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been making all-out efforts to grab power from Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the state in the next elections, has found one more opportunity to corner the ruling party.

Every year, the BJP rakes up the issue of celebrating the Telangana liberation day officially on September 17 to mark the merger of erstwhile Hyderabad state ruled by the Nizams with the Indian Union in 1948.

The TRS government led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao always ignores the demand and the BJP alleges that he is acting at the direction of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. It has been saying that if the BJP is voted to power, it will celebrate the event officially.

This year, with the next assembly elections due to be held next year and the by-election to Munugode assembly seat in a few months, the BJP is planning to put up a big show on September 17 to corner the TRS government.

According to party sources, the BJP is planning a big “march” in Hyderabad in which thousands of the party workers would conduct a march-past on the streets of the city on the occasion of the commencement of diamond jubilee celebrations of Hyderabad liberation.

The programme is expected to be attended by Union home minister Amit Shah, Karnataka chief minister S R Bommai and Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde or deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The TRS is also contemplating to counter this programme by planning an official event to commemorate 75th year of merger of Hyderabad state with Indian union.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is learnt to have given orders to the officials to come out with a programme of action.

So, it will be an interesting battle once again in Telangana between the BJP and TRS much ahead of Munugode by-poll!
