BJP Gives New Twist To 'surgical strike'

A day after getting heavy trolling in the media and political circles for his controversial “surgical strike” comment, Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday gave a new twist to his comments.

In his comments on social media platform Twitter, Sanjay defended his comments saying it was essential to carry out surgical strikes on illegal immigrants into the country.

“You are dreaming of winning the elections with the votes of illegal immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. But it will remain a day dream. We shall definitely carry out surgical strikes on these illegal immigrants,” Sanjay said.

He said the BJP would also conduct surgical strikes on exploiters of Telangana, corrupt leaders and family rulers in the Telangana.

It may be mentioned that the state BJP president kicked up a controversy on Tuesday by making an explosive statement that BJP, if voted to power the GHMC elections, would take up surgical strikes on the old city to drive away illegally staying Rohingyas and Pakistan citizens.

He alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) were trying to win GHMC polls with Rohingyas, Pakistani and Afghanistani voters.

Hitting back at BJP leaders, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said they were frustrated.

“BJP leaders are saying that there are 30,000-40,000 Rohingyas in voter list. They are saying anything. If there 30,000 Rohingyas, what is Amit Shah (union home minister) doing. Is he sleeping,” he asked.

The AIMIM chief said the voter list is not prepared by his party. He challenged the BJP leaders to show at least a 1,000 Rohingyas in the voter list.
