Andhra Techie who lost job in UK commits suicide

Chennai: A 30-year-old software engineer, who returned from the UK after losing his job, committed suicide at a hotel in Pallavaram here on Sunday.

Police said V Sudhir, a native of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, ended his life as his efforts to get a job proved futile. Sidhir had lost his job a few months ago and had been desperately looking for a job.

He had done his postgraduation in the UK and worked at IT companies there.

His wife, Sri Valli, was working at a software company in Siruseri near Chennai, police said.

He arrived in Chennai on Saturday. However, he did not tell his wife that he was in Chennai when he spoke to her over phone on Saturday.

He committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof of the hotel room.

In his suicide note written in Telugu, Sudhir said he had failed to secure a job and hence could not be a good husband and son.

The police traced his family and informed them about his suicide.
