Pawan eager to see Naidu back in power?

It looks like actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is in too much hurry to pull down the YSR Congress party government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and see that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu returns to the hot seat.

Even as the entire nation is facing a severe crisis of onion supply in the market due to extreme weather conditions, Pawan Kalyan sought to blame the Jagan government for the short supply of onions in the market, resulting in steep hike in prices.

Pawan visited the Tirupati Rythu Bazar on Tuesday and lashed out at the Jagan government for its failure in taking steps to control increasing prices.

“If you cannot bring down prices of essential commodities and come to the rescue of the consumers, why are you still in power? You should step down and go for fresh elections,” he said.

Pawan also tried to defend the previous TDP government.

“Don’t try to run away by throwing blame on the previous government. It is your responsibility to see that the prices of onions come down,” he said.

He said he had seen the poor quality of onions being sold for Rs.80 and enquired about the availability and problems of sellers.

The government has been busy with re-tenders and criticising the previous government policies. They can take action in what they have done but they have to move forward, he said.

“People are not getting any respite from increasing prices. Onions have gone out of reach of commoners. If the government has no control and capability in taking corrective steps, it should step down,” Pawan demanded.
