An aggressing Seemandhra leader and State Minister T G Venkatesh on Friday made a sensational statement, saying that if he was the made the Chief Minister then he would put all those who are supporting the state's division in jail.
It is well known in political circles that Venkatesh is among the front runners fighting for the cause of united Andhra Pradesh. He had a run-in with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders several times in the past.
But, he is now going a step further and threatening to send the separatists to jail.
"If I become the Chief Minister, the first ting I will do is to pack off these Telangana supporters to jail," he declared.
Looks like frustration is setting in among the integrationists as their efforts to stall the division of the state have gone in vain and the UPA government is going ahead with its moves to split the state to carve out Telangana state.
Venkatesh said that the division of the state could be stopped if thousands of people march to Delhi and mount pressure on the UPA leadership to reconsider its decision which will cause immense damage to the state.
A large number of people must march to the national capital under the leadership of apolitical organisations like APNGOs, he said. If the Centre sends the draft Telangana bill to the Assembly, it should be defeated on the floor of the House.
Replying to another question, he said that dissolution of the Assembly could also be one of the options before the Chief Miniser N Kiran Kumar Reddy who is strongly opposed to the bifurcation of the state.
