Pakistan's Bulletin: Alerting Its People On Nuclear Radiation Leak?

A letter titled "Radiological Safety Bulletin", purportedly issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination and dated May 13, 2025, has emerged online, sparking widespread speculation.

The document claims that a radiation leak was confirmed at a site in northern Pakistan.

According to its contents, the leak stemmed from a mechanical malfunction that occurred while transporting an Indium-192 capsule, typically used in non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures.

Labeled "CONFIDENTIAL – IMMEDIATE RELEASE", the bulletin outlines radiation exposure data, containment measures, and environmental evaluations. However, the timing of the incident's disclosure has attracted particular attention.

The report states the leak happened on May 11, 2025 — just one day after a ceasefire agreement was reached, following India’s large-scale retaliatory strike that severely weakened Pakistan’s air and missile systems.

Social media platform X has seen numerous shares of the alleged document, with many users suggesting that Indian airstrikes may have inadvertently targeted or impacted sensitive nuclear-related infrastructure.

Nonetheless, the language used in the bulletin—riddled with spelling errors, repetitive phrasing, and awkward syntax — raises doubts about its authenticity.

Critics argue it might either be a fabricated piece or, if genuine, an example of substandard official communication.
