Despite rising inflation and living costs, the base pay for entry-level roles has seen little to no revision, prompting concerns among aspiring tech professionals and industry analysts alike.

System Engineers at Infosys earn an average of ₹3.7 lakh per year
Test Engineers make around ₹4.3 lakh annually
Software Developers command higher pay, ranging from ₹6.4 lakh to ₹9.5 lakh per year, depending on skills and experience
Salary packages may also differ based on posting location, with cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune offering minor adjustments to account for cost-of-living variations.
While entry-level salaries remain modest, Infosys offers structured growth opportunities.
As employees gain experience, they can move up pay bands and qualify for incentives such as bonuses, stock options, and other perks — boosting total compensation over time.
However, as India’s tech sector continues to expand globally, many experts believe it’s time for IT firms to revisit and revise fresher compensation models to attract and retain top talent.
