YSRC Won't Believe Rahul's Promise?

YSRC Won't Believe Rahul's Promise?

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced a couple of days ago that his party would join hands with any party or front that would grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

This has given rise to the speculation that the YSRC, which appeared hesitant to ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party because of its stubborn stand on the special category status, might incline towards the Congress party, because the latter has been openly supporting the SCS.

In fact, Congress president Rahul Gandhi declared that if the UPA comes to power, it would grant special category status to AP on priority basis.

But, the YSRC party does not seem to have faith in the statement of Rahul Gandhi, for the simple reason that it strongly believes the UPA will not come to power. So, it pins hopes only on BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which it strongly believes, will have to succumb to the people’s pressure.

In a debate in the national television channel, YSRC MP V Vijay Sai Reddy categorically rejected the idea of his party joining hands with the Congress.

“Nobody believes the Congress. We have faith only in the BJP and Modi. They will definitely grant the special status to AP,” he said.

If what he said is true, why did Jagan say his party would join hands with any party or front that is positive to the SCS?

Why can’t it believe the Congress, which had promised the SCS during the passage of bifurcation act, but has faith only in the BJP which betrayed the cause?
